The First Step Is Always The Hardest
Attending a Celebrate Recovery meeting for the first time can feel intimidating. Our meetings follow a structured format that can help make the experience more comfortable and welcoming. Let’s take a look at what you can expect.
Pre-Meeting Mingle Time
Before the main Celebrate Recovery meeting begins, participants can mingle and catch up with one another in a relaxed, informal setting.
This is a great time to greet old friends, make new connections, and settle in for the evening. It’s also when you can drop off your children at the on-site childcare, allowing you to engage in the meeting fully, without distractions.
Large Group Meeting
The large group meeting is a time of prayer, praise, worship, and teaching. This is where the entire Celebrate Recovery community comes together to shift their focus away from the stresses of the outside world and connect with their Higher Power, Jesus Christ.
The teaching portion is designed to provide biblical insights and practical tools for overcoming hurts, habits, and hang-ups.
Our group alternates between guest speakers who talk about recovery, discussions about one of the Celebrate Recovery Steps, and personal testimonies from other members who have been working on their recovery.
Open Share Small Groups
Immediately following the large group meeting, participants break into gender-specific and issue-specific small groups.
This is a safe, confidential space where you can share your struggles, receive support, and learn from others who are walking a similar path.
The small groups foster deeper connections and accountability.
Post-Meeting Cafe
After the large group meeting, Celebrate Recovery offers a post-meeting cafe time where participants can mingle, enjoy a healthy dinner, and connect with other members in a more informal setting.
This is a great opportunity to continue conversations, build relationships, and even bring your children to enjoy time with the entire Celebrate Recovery community.
The cafe time allows for further fellowship and support outside of the structured meeting.
